Our Kent Place Summer Camp offers exciting summer enrichment, which provides children the opportunity to focus on a specialized area of interest through dynamic week-long programs. These programs are overseen by outstanding Kent Place faculty and staffed by outside professionals as needed to best suit our campers.

Chess Camp by Diplomat Chess
Learn chess with Diplomat Chess! Our coaches have taught thousands of children to play, including state and national champions, but most of our students are just looking to learn a new skill and have fun. Class time is divided between interactive group lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies and analysis of famous Grandmaster games. All chess equipment is provided by Diplomat Chess. All skill levels are welcome.

TGA Golf Camp
TGA of Union County is partnering with Kent Place to offer boys and girls entering grades 2 - 6 the most exciting golf camp. Kent Place Golf Camp is tailored for ALL SKILL LEVELS; from the never played before who is just starting out to the more experienced player looking to advance their game. Camp will be staffed by certified TGA instructors who focus on improving all aspects of each camper's golf game through specifically designed lesson plans. This ensures that each camper gets the individual attention and TIME necessary to achieve their goals.
Campers practice all aspects of the game: Swing Fundamentals, chipping, putting, driving, Golf rules & etiquette, competitive formats (best ball, match play, etc.), course management and decision making (driver vs. iron off the tee, etc.), and practice techniques. Students learn these skills by participating in stations and they rotate through each one to practice these skills and keep the day fun and engaging! We also incorporate simulated course play, golf games, and skills challenges into each week. Students always look forward to Golf Olympics each week! Golf Camp is all about providing a fun atmosphere for children of all ages and skill levels to play golf. Campers will build friendships, gain self-confidence, and create lifelong memories.

- Ash Brook Golf Course: All campers will get the opportunity to play 9 holes on Ash Brook’s popular Par 3–9 hole course.

Sculpting Critters 101
Sculpting Critters 101
- Offered to students entering Grades 2-6
- Dates: July 10-14, 2023
- Time: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (AM Half Day) (no lunch is included for half-day camps)
- Tuition: $420
Use your imagination and have fun sculpting quirky critters with paper mache and paper clay. Sculpting Critters 101, learn the steps to creating a 3D paper clay critter by making holiday ornaments, a keychain buddy, badges, or a little statue for your bedside table! Step one, you make a simple sketch. Step two, use a combination of bought and recycled products, foil, and masking tape, to create your critter’s body (armature). In steps three and four, you cover the armature with paper mache, glue, and paper clay, allowing drying time in between. Now you have a solid base to decorate, bringing your new friend or friends to life with paint and pens. Finally, you add a dazzling finish with a layer of varnish! You will love this magical journey of Creating Colorful Critters!

Critter Creators can make new little buddies, learn how to make wall art, or make a bigger critter for their collection. The steps are very nearly the same but with more freedom to experiment. Remember, if you follow the steps, you can’t go wrong sculpting with paper and coloring with paint!

Give your regards to Broadway! Students will prepare and perform a musical theater cabaret featuring songs from Broadway musicals. Solos, duets and small group songs will focus on the process of bringing a musical theater song to life. Whether you are a Tony winner or just getting started, this is the perfect place to learn about how the pros on Broadway get their performances past the footlights!

Songwriters, playwrights, lyricists, actors, imaginers wanted! Students will spend the week learning about how musicals are made and create their own original show.

Do you think you can build the strongest and most agile robot? Can your robot win a head-to-head combat mission? Learn engineering strategies for building sturdy structures using unique RoboThink bricks, and then apply that knowledge to build multiple robots for a variety of friendly competitions. You'll have a blast as you play robot soccer, compete in robot relay races, and complete dozens of other fun challenges in this fun robotics program. Field Hockey camp is a new opportunity for our Kent Place community to learn the fundamentals of the sport early. Field hockey is one of the sports offered in middle and upper school athletics. With camp being run by the field hockey varsity head coach, Kerrie Burns, your child will have the opportunity to receive top coaching that will develop leadership skills, agility, hand eye coordination and teamwork skills. Those attending the afternoon session will have more advanced coaching, developing a better hockey IQ as well as higher level technical/tactical skills.
